Charlotte Elizabeth Stace was born in February 1844 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Her parents were Amelia Sophia Lucas and Thomas Hollis Stace.

Charlotte married Anthony Wall in March 1865 in Wellington. Anthony had arrived in New Zealand in 1841 on the William Bentinck with his parents. 

Charlotte and Anthony had nine children together: Sarah Emma (1866), Herbert Anthony (1868), Ernest Alfred (1870), John Francis (1871), Alfred Herbert Edwin (1874), Reginald Stace (1876), Percy Frederick (1878), Bertha Charlotte Amelia (1882), and Leonard Basil (1884). Herbert and Ernest both died very young.

In 1893 Charlotte and Anthony were living in Paremata, near Wellington, where Charlotte and their daughter Sarah both signed the suffrage petition [same sheet].

Sarah married John Linnette Harvey in 1900. Anthony, who died in October 1901 (64 years), and Charlotte who died in Paremata in October 1932 (88), are buried with two of their children in the Porirua public cemetery.
