Ann Prideaux was born 11 October 1829 in Landulph, Cornwall, daughter of Honor and Pascoe Prideaux.

She married Thomas Stanning Barrett and they had 12 children. She was living in Wanganui when she signed the petition [as A. Barrett ]. Her daughter, Celia Dustin, also signed the petition [same sheet].

Ann died on 16 August, 1905 in Wanganui.
