panel 75

Panel number: 75

Petition Sheet Number: 78

Person honouring: Mrs W. Bremer (Agnes)

Relationship to makers: Her picture hangs in my home, my grandmother loved her. I carry her name within mine, my middle name is Agnes.

Agnes Euphemia Bremer (nee Blaikey) was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in England but grew up in Melbourne. Her parents and ancestors were from Scotland. She married widower Wilhelm Bremer on 10 January 1884. Her occupation as given on her marriage certificate was ‘Dressmaker’. In the latter years of her life she lived with her daughter and granddaughter, and had a life-long interest in crafts, actively sewing, crocheting, producing pewter work, and woodcarving.

Panel materials: Base fabric - recycled sheet. The other materials are printable cotton and silk produced for use in an inkjet printer. I had stockpiled them years ago and am glad to have put them to use now. We didn’t need to shop to complete this panel, except perhaps for some chocolate!
